One of the most powerful executives in WWE is departing the company.

As first reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brad Blum tendered his resignation from WWE on May 1. Blum was WWE's chief operating officer. Since 2006, he had worked for WWE in a variety of leadership roles.

Blum is listed as "Corporate Officer No. 2" in Janel Grant's lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit claims that Blum helped facilitate Grant's employment in WWE.

WWE issued a statement in March saying that "neither Nick Khan nor Brad Blum, prior to the lawsuit being filed on January 25, 2024, were aware of any allegation by Ms. Grant that she was the victim of abuse or unwanted physical contact; nor does the complaint allege that either had knowledge of such."

Meltzer writes that Blum made the decision to resign from WWE and no one forced him out of the company:

Chief Operating Officer Brad Blum tendered his resignation on 5/1. We don’t know more details past this was his own decision and nobody forced him out. He, along with Nick Khan and Paul Levesque were considered the three most powerful officers in WWE. Blum has been a critical strategic and operational leader. He started with WWE in 2006 serving as Chief of Staff for more than a decade while also serving in various leadership roles, most recently taking responsibility for WWE’s Operations in early 2020. He reported to only Khan and was overseeing Corporate Strategy, Marketing, Corporate Communications, Creative Services, IT & Technology, Insights & Analytics, Real Estate & Facilities, and Corporate Travel. Blum was Vince McMahon’s Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff from 2006-2019, when he became Executive Vice President of Operations through 2023, and made Chief Operating Officer after the merger with Endeavor. Blum was Corporate Officer No. 2 in the Janel Grant lawsuit, which stated that when McMahon met Grant, he set up a meeting with Blum, she met with Blum and the suit said he hardly asked any questions and hired her for a $75,000 year job in the legal department. His name also came up that in February 2020, McMahon told Grant that Blum had warned McMahon that there were a lot of rumors circulating about their relationship and she was transferred to another department.
