Newcastle United must learn from teams like Arsenal and Manchester City this season.

Magpies defender Dan Burn believes that only by being ruthless can they become an even better team.

The St. James' Park club beat PSG 4-1 in the Champions League, but then drew in the Premier League against West Ham United.

Burn told Chronicle Live: "It's something we are learning all the time. It is a mentality thing and we want to attack every game. We don't want to use these Champions League games as an excuse or distraction. It's something to learn from.

"Once we went 2-1 up we should have seen the game out.

"We limited them to half chances. I am disappointed we could not see it through.

"Popey has pulled us out with a great save from Jarrod Bowen. We started slowly in the first half and we were punished. We didn't really get going until the second half. Once we were ahead I didn't think we were going to lose."
