Newcastle boss Eddie Howe rejected doubts for Dan Burn after their win against Nottingham Forest.

Burn again struggled against Forest winger Anthony Elanga on the day.

But Howe later said: "I didn't think it was particularly relevant. They've got pace on both sides. We scored three and that's the main thing.

"Our midfield didn't deal well enough with some transitions and it cost us a couple of goals. That's something for us to go and look back at.

"It was another really entertaining game. We came in level at half-time after playing well. We showed good spirit to win the game. We're just trying to win every game we play. We're feeling more ourselves now after these couple of away wins."
