Tom Brady’s shot at Jaguars proves he learned a lot from Netflix’s roast

Tom Brady has been in the media a lot recently. He participated in The Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix and will be joining FOX as their lead analyst this fall. In a recent podcast appearance, Brady took a shot at the Jacksonville Jaguars that proves he learned a little something from being on his Netflix roast.

Brady joined Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor on a recent episode of The Pivot Podcast. He took a detour from his original point to sling a stray at Taylor and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“It’s very challenging to go beat the Steelers, to beat the Dolphins,” Brady said. “Not Jacksonville isn’t it?”

Brady gestured towards long-time Jaguars running back Fred Taylor when he said this. Everyone started to laugh.

“I’m just kidding,” Brady said while chuckling. “Freddy you know I love you.”

Taylor responded, “I know but you sound like these guys and we were teammates.”

Taylor is referring to the two seasons seasons he played with the New England Patriots at the end of his career in 2009 and 2010. The Patriots did not make the Super Bowl in either season Taylor played for the team.

“Believe me, I loved player with you every single time,” Brady said.

There’s a reason why Brady has no fear for the Jaguars — they’ve hardly ever beat him. In six career regular season games against the Jaguars, Brady is 5-1. His only loss came in Week 2 of the 2018 NFL season. It was a revenge game after the Patriots beat the Jaguars 24-20 in the AFC Championship game eight months before.

Ryan Clark added his own quip and hit the nail on the head. “Freddy, he just came from a roast. He’s still hot.”

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a challenging regular season schedule for the 2024 NFL season.

Jacksonville will play all four teams in the AFC East (Bills, Dolphins, Jets, Patriots) and NFC North (Bears, Lions, Packers, Vikings). They also drew the second-place teams from the NFC East (Eagles), AFC West (Raiders), and AFC North (Browns).

They will also play each of their divisional rivals twice.

The Jaguars will play in a good amount of nationally-televised games in 2024. They have two primetime games on the schedule – Monday Night Football in Week 3 against the Bills and Sunday Night Football in Week 9 against the Eagles.

As is tradition, Jacksonville will play some international games in London as well. The Jaguars will play the Chicago Bears in Week 6 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They stay in London and play the New England Patriots in Week 7 at Wembley Stadium.

The Week 18 schedule is flexible in the NFL this year, allowing the league to flex playoff-relevant matchups into primetime to gain more viewership. Jacksonville plays Indianapolis in Week 18, so it is possible that they play each other in primetime if that game could decide playoff seeding or the AFC South title.

The Jaguars have their bye week in Week 12, which is well situation to provide them rest before a potential late-season playoff push.
